I'm trying to get capture to work with my smartsoft software. I have capture polar and i'm running Mac OSX 10.6 on a macbook pro. Can anyone help?

Hi Noah,
Ideally this should work straight out of the box, ie. start both Capture and SmartSoft and you should see the SmartSoft universes in the Capture Universes tab in the project window immediately.
If you run into issue, make sure that you have only one network connection (cable or wifi). Also verify that it is up and running as I believe it's necessary for the connection to work.
We have had some problems with the refresh of the Universes tab that is fixed in the upcoming 2.2 version. A workaround for that is to start both Capture and SmartSoft and then wait around 10 seconds before opening or creating a project in Capture, so that it gets a chance to find SmartSoft first.

I am using ETC's SmartSoft 2.02 on a new Macbook Pro. Prior to my MBP purchase, I did try out the SmartSoft tutorial with Capture's executable demo scene on my old desktop PC and it worked; being able to click on a Capture "C" logo button for the 3D scene above ETC's virtual Smartfade ML board.
My church purchased Capture Polar 2.3.7 SmartSoft Edition and I modeled our current stage with ease and am ready to program lighting scenes. On my MBP, I did not notice Capture's "C" logo button. How can I bring up the 3D scene overlayed above the virtual board?
My only work-around right now is using desktop spaces since SmartSoft works in full-screen mode only. Or should I look into a dual-monitor setup during the design/programming process?

Hi Sonic,
As you have noticed, the "C"-button in SmartSoft is only available on PC. However, if I remember things correctly, you do not have to run SmartSoft in fullscreen mode if your screen resolution is wide enough. Using an external monitor should do the trick!

Hi Lars,
I'm trying to get Smartsoft to work with Capture polar's demo opera 3-D scene. I launch both(I don't open Any of ETC's demo shows), wait ten seconds, and i can see smart soft's DMX universe in the , but I dont know were to go on from there.
