Light on an image-file

Trying to visualize the lighting of a painting, I import an image and use it as a texture on a simple box the size of my frame. When I aim an ETC profile at it, it does not light up like the surrounding materials.  The "affects lighting"-option will only add an ugly white rectangle on top of my image. Of course I can make the image self-lit but that would be skipping the purpose of using capture. Turning on the "flourescents" in the room lights up the image perfectly on all levels.

Did I miss anything here? Please help.

Re: Light on an image-file
Hi Viktor,

This is how the visualization in Capture works and the technical limitations we chose to accept when it was developed. As we are working on a migration to DirectX now though, this will be dramatically improved within a near future!

Re: Light on an image-file

Hi Viktor,

While changing to DirectX for driver stability reasons we are also changing the way the visualization works and the problems you mentioned will disappear!

Re: Light on an image-file
And so....the inevitable question...when? No pressure, just give me a release-date to look forward to.
