The Quadro series cards are largely based on the same hardware as the GeForce series. With other words, they are not much faster. The large difference lies in the drivers though - the Quadro drivers are a lot better! I personally traded the 8800 Ultra for a Quadro 4500 and things got slower, probably because the 8800 Ultra had so fast memory.

No, if you're looking at new ways of spending your money, I think you should have a look at the new 260/280 series from NVidia!
